We hope that you have been following along as we unveil the legendary clans and their stories, counting down to the debut of
Legend of the Five Rings: The Card Game. Momentum is building as we approach the release of the game later this year, and though you have discovered many of the secrets of the clans in our
preview articles, there is still much more to come.
On Thursday, August 17th, the
Kiku Matsuri event at
Gen Con 50 will welcome everyone with a grand opening ceremony. Hundreds of registered players will get to experience Rokugan like never before with an early preview tournament. Beyond the walls of Gen Con, while the world eagerly awaits the
Legend of the Five Rings Core Set, there will be one final opportunity to experience the game before its official release…
The Honored Preview Event
On
Saturday, September 2nd, London will play host to the
Honored Preview Event for approximately 100 invited competitors. Each will receive a
Legend of the Five Rings Core Set and compete for special prizes! For a chance to prove your honor, show us your dedication to your favorite clan on social media!
If you are able to join us in London on September 2nd, we encourage you to apply for an invitation on
Twitter or
Facebook. Using the hashtag
#L5RHonored, post by 11:59 PM CDT (Central Daylight Time) on Monday, July 31st. Include one or more of the following in your post to best convey why you are an honored member of your favorite clan:
- Video or photo
- Cosplay costume or accessories
- Original fan art or sculpture
- Haiku, prose, or lyrics
- Thematic food recipe or dish
- Any other appropriate display of dedication
All posts must use the
#L5RHonored hashtag, and be timestamped on or before 11:59 PM CDT (Central Daylight Time), Monday, July 31st. The creativity and clan dedication of the
Legend of the Five Rings community will be on display, and we will share some of our favorites throughout the application window.
On or before Monday, August 7th, we will choose the invitees and contact them through the social media account they used to show their dedication with further instructions. Each honored competitor must reply according to those instructions to confirm their attendance by Monday, August 14th.
Do not dishonor yourself or your clan by forgetting the common pitfalls! Remember the
#L5RHonored hashtag; do not create duplicate
#L5RHonored posts on one social media platform; and avoid any inappropriate, dangerous, or negative content. Your ultimate goal is to prove your dedication and the true honor of your chosen clan!
In addition to those selected from Facebook and Twitter, a small number of hand-chosen devotees who have previously proven their honor will be invited to round out the competition. All invited players must arrange and provide for their own travel and accommodations to attend the competition on Saturday, September 2nd, in London. Time, location, and other important details will be provided to invitees only.
The Honored Preview Event on September 2nd is free for invited competitors, and they may each request approval for up to one guest to spectate via the instructions in their invitation. Additional spectators will not be admitted, except for pre-approved press representatives. If you would like to attend for digital or traditional press purposes, please fill out our
